Our Purpose:

Chestnut Ridge Traveling Day Camp exists to share the joy of camp with new and diverse communities by bringing the camp experience directly to local churches. This allows children who may not otherwise have the opportunity to attend camp to experience adventure, community, and faith in a safe and welcoming environment.

What Is Traveling Day Camp?

Traveling Day Camp is a week-long camp experience hosted at a partner church. Instead of campers traveling to Camp Chestnut Ridge, our trained and caring camp staff travel to churches each day to lead camp programming. The schedule and activities are modeled after our traditional summer camp, giving campers the same fun, energy, and camp traditions just in their own community. Each day includes a mix of active play, creative time, and moments for reflection and worship.

Activities may include:

• Worship and camp songs

• Archery

• Gaga ball

• Arts and crafts

• S’mores and campfire activities

• Classic camp games and traditions

 

Chestnut Ridge provides all programming, supplies, and equipment. The host church provides the space and helps welcome campers. Together, we create a meaningful and memorable camp week.
