Camp Chestnut Ridge invites your local United Methodist youth ministry to join us for a transformative, faith- and fun-filled, high-energy week of overnight camp this summer. Designed specifically for rising 7th through 9th graders. You bring the middle schoolers (and a chaperone or a few), we’ll handle everything else.
Camp Packages & Pricing*
Cabin rooms are typically single-gender. Most church groups bringing a mix of genders will select a room per gender group. Each cabin room price includes the required adult chaperone spots for that specific cabin. Churches that wish to have mixed-gender rooms may do so. Large churches can also select multiple rooms.
*We have some flexibility on assignments. If something doesn't quite line up with your needs, let us know and we may be able to adjust.

Chestnut Ridge Staff Chaperone Add-On: If your church cannot provide a chaperone for a specific gender cabin, Chestnut Ridge can assign a staff member to stay in that cabin overnight for an additional $500 fee per cabin (counts toward that cabin's total capacity).

Small Church Matchmaking: If your church has fewer than 5 youth of a specific gender (e.g., only 2 boys), Chestnut Ridge will pair your boys with another local UMC church's boys so both churches can split cabin space, male chaperone duties, and costs proportionally.
Leadership & Supervision Responsibilities
DAYTIME PROGRAMMING

• Chestnut Ridge Staff: Facilitate all activities, meals, worship, and healthcare/first-aid.

• Church Chaperones: Enjoy free time or participate alongside youth as preferred
OVERNIGHT & CABIN LIFE

• Church Chaperones: Provide overnight supervision in cabins.

• Chestnut Ridge Staff: On-call support (& cabin counselors if add-on fee selected).
Safe Sanctuaries Compliance: Participating churches will sign an agreement certifying that all adult chaperones provided have completed required background checks and UMC Safe Sanctuaries training.
Site-Specific Training: Chaperones must also participate in virtual or in-person training provided by Chestnut Ridge Staff.
Commitment & Payment Timeline
We encourage churches to express interest early, as total capacity is limited

Immediate: Express interest, ask questions, and request small-church matchmaking if needed.

November 1: Initial verbal commitment deadline. Unclaimed cabin blocks are released to other churches after this date.

December 1: Submit a rough estimate of expected camper and chaperone numbers.

January 18: Provide an ~80% accurate camper estimate.

January 30: $1,000 Deposit Due per Church (Non-refundable; deposit applies directly to your total remaining balance).

February 28: Confirm updated numbers and gender splits.

May 1: Final Numbers Lock & Balance Due. Camper counts may drop by up to 20% prior to May 1 without financial penalty. After May 1, churches remain financially responsible for all locked-in spots. Group increases after May 1 are subject to remaining bed availability.
Transformative experience
Many folks have experienced summer camp as a place of growth- individually, in community, and in faith. However, camp can be intimidating or cost-prohibitive for campers to sign up as an individual. By coming as a group with your church, your middle schoolers will have the opportunity to experience transformational camp ministry while having the comfort of knowing others at camp before they arrive, plus they receive cost savings by signing up as part of a group.
