FAITH & WORSHIP

Faith

Chestnut Ridge is a Christian camp related by faith to The United Methodist Church that is working to serve local churches and the community.

Worship

All campers participate in our daily worship featuring a talented band, fun skits, and engaging speakers.

Campers of various religious traditions or no religious tradition are always welcome to attend Chestnut Ridge.

It is our intent to share our faith with the campers and invite them to explore what it means to live out a life of faith in Christian community. We earnestly seek to present and live out a vibrant, active Christian faith that is inviting, life-giving, and transformative.

Another Way

summer theme:

Time and again, Jesus offers us another way to live. When the world says we have to be someone else to

fit in, Jesus tells us we are beloved

just as we are. When problems

seem so big that we can't

makea difference, Jesus

shows us that with God, all

things are possible. When circumstances seem bleak, Jesus is our hope. We rejoice in our counter-cultural God who calls us to do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with God. (Micah 6:8)

We explore these daily themes throughout the summer using different scriptures:

Weeks 1, 4, 7, & 10 :

Luke 5:1-11, John 4, Luke 15: 11-32, John 13, Revelation 21

Weeks 2, 5, 8, & 11 :

Matthew 2, Luke 19: 1-10, Luke 15, John 6, Isaiah 40

Weeks 3, 6, 9, & 12 :

Matthew 7: 24-29, 1 Corinthians 12, 1 Corinthians 13, Galatians 6: 9-10, John 14

Curious about your camper's faith experiences this week?
Here are some questions and ideas to keep the conversation going:

I wonder if you learned any new songs this week?

I wonder what the skits were like?

(for res campers) Is there a blessing you said before a meal you could teach the family?

Try reading the theme scriptures together, starting with the ones your camper explored and branching out from there. You can ask how your camper thinks each scripture relates to that day's theme.

Interested in passing on your faith to your kids?

Wish there were a supportive community to help?
