Donors Sow Camper Garden PDF Print E-mail

Things at camp are getting dirty this summer, and that's just the way we like it!

Begun with seed money from your annual fund donations and the support of the Friends of Chestnut Ridge and our afterschool campers, the Camper Garden is ready for summer 2007. Lettuce is ready to pick and tomatoes and blueberries are not far behind. Sunflowers stand almost 8" tall, waiting for the strong summer sun to prod their growth until they tower over our heads. Potatoes and cow peas cover the dark soil, moved by the shovels and hands of many volunteers.

So come by this summer and you'll see us in the garden. It's where we belong so that we can learn our rightful place in the world. Before our fall from grace, God "planted a garden in the east, in Eden; and there he put the man he had formed" (Gen. 2:8). May God form us as we till and keep this spot.
