With summer camp just weeks away, an intrepid crew of volunteers contributed their Saturday in a variety of ways.
Friends of Chestnut Ridge, camper families, neighbors, and church delegates all converged to accomplish necessary projects before the advent of Summer Camp. In all, the workers accomplished over 100 hours of service in a single day's efforts.
The next time you're at camp, check out their contributions:
- A massive stack of split firewood
- The entire landscape berm was weeded, newspapered, and mulched
- Areas around the Morris Center were also weeded and mulched
- Two wildflower gardens were weeded, prepared and seeded
- The centerpiece of the summer camp curriculum, our new raised-bed garden was turned, weeded, tilled
- The crew built many raised-bed garden plots and planted ~45 berry bushes
