RenovationDuring a recent, chilly Saturday afternoon, approximately 65 Chestnut Ridge retreat guests, here as members of the Duke Youth Academy, put on their work clothes to rehabilitate some of our older buildings.

As part of the new Home in the Woods night being offered this summer, our Rustic Sites will need to be in top form to provide great wilderness lodging locations for residential campers. The DYA volunteers divided into four separate work teams and tackled all manner of renovation tasks. Torn screen was removed, new screen was installed, creaky doors were carefully tended to work like new.

We owe a debt of thanks to all those who tromped through the woods and wielded their hammers and staplers will aplomb. Our residential campers have a lot to look forward to in 2007!
